Refusing to be bogged down by the general atmosphere of fear and uncertainty across the world unleashed by the unprecedented outbreak of Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic that has thrown up myriad challenges and obstacles all around us – Asian Business School (ABS) organized an exclusive webinar session for the students of PGDM 2020-22 batch on the topic “ALIGNING YOUR CAREER PATH & TURNING OBSTACLES INTO OPPORTUNITIES” by one of the most prominent and world-renowned motivational speakers, Mr. Nick Vujicic on Friday, 1st May 2020 at 6:30 PM (IST). This interactive session was thematically based on the underlying truth of life that “Obstacles are part of a journey called Life, but one must know how to face them and convert them into opportunities.” Following is the complete recording of the session:

Perhaps there could not have been a more perfect exponent on this subject than Mr. Nick Vujicic – an Internationally renowned motivational speaker, Times bestselling author, swimmer, actor, coach and entrepreneur!

Nicholas Vujicic, as we all know, is an Australian Christian evangelist born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by the absence of arms and legs. Growing up he struggled mentally, emotionally & physically, and even attempted suicide in his childhood. But still he persevered through life’s challenges which enabled him to find purpose and turn obstacles into opportunities, making him one of the most sought after keynote speakers in the world today.

The WEBINAR was organized by Asian Business School (ABS) ) – which is a constituent group college of Asian Education Group and is ranked as one of the best B-schools in Delhi NCR – for PGDM /MBA students and aspirants. The WEBINAR was followed by a Q&A Session with the distinguished guest.

This life changing webinar session by Mr. Nick Vujicic opened with the distinguished guest thanking ABS for this honour and congratulating ABS students for pursuing their PGDM courses from this reputed business college in India.

Mr. Vujicic then went on to relate his own story of inborn disability, the negative fears that dominated his early life, the humiliations, the loneliness, the contemplation of suicide, and how he finally got over his obstacles converting them into opportunities and success.

Recounting his own struggles, he said that “the biggest disability for a human being is FEAR, which could be rational and irrational. Rational fear is understandable and can be countered, but it is the irrational fear that harms the most. We can all play the Victim Card, but it doesn’t help. We have to win against our obstacles through the power of Perseverance.” He said, “Looking back on our struggles, we become stronger only if we don’t give up and persevere.” He suggested students treat “Failure as a part of the process of life and obstacles as opportunities.”

The highly inspiring speaker then shared with the students 3 important steps that he religiously followed in turning his obstacles into opportunities. The first step he stressed upon was an “ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE”, whereby he asked students to “be always thankful for all the good things that have happened with them in their life and be grateful to be healthy and alive.” The second step was to clearly define a “Long-Term GOAL” for themselves, and persist and persevere in their efforts to achieve the same. The third step that he advised students to make a note of was to “Live Life ONE DAY AT A TIME” by making the best and positive use of each day in their life.

Mr. Nick Vujicic then opened the session for questions from the participants. Several questions relating to his life and times were put up by the students, to which he replied most convincingly and inspiringly.

Towards the end, he advised the students to never give up in their efforts and be always positively oriented in dealing with their obstacles in life and emerge successful by turning these obstacles into opportunities. This, he reiterated, would be made easy if they all followed the three steps which he had defined earlier.

Before he concluded, the mesmerizing speaker did not forget to congratulate the ABS students once again and profusely thanked the management of Asian Business School for the “great honour and privilege accorded to him by way of this webinar.”
