Jeff Bezos is cited as saying, “It’s hard to find things that won’t sell online.” This is an accurate statement, In the context of the Media club of Asian Business School. The club organised the event “Bizz Media Mavericks” on February 2, 2024. In order to provide the PGDM students with an opportunity to demonstrate their marketing skills through the medium of digital media, the purpose of the activity was to establish a new trend. The students were able to improve their skills all at once by participating in the activity, which provided them with sufficient practical information, creative space, and a demonstration of Launchpad.

More than twenty contributions were received for the activity, in which students engaged both individually and in groups. As part of the activity, students were tasked with producing promotional movies that would serve as micro-content for the digital media platform. These videos would introduce the students’ products or ideas in ways that were both fascinating and catchy.
The activity included a variety of items and ideas for the generation Z and millennials, including gym routines, product showcases, and in-house DIY crafting promotions. These were only some of the things that were supplied. Following every two reels, there was a significant portion that consisted of motivational movies and personal successes. The two judges of the show, Dr. Sarmistha Sarma and Dr. Itinpreet Kaur, offered their insightful comments on each reel, advising the contestants on how they could improve their performance in the future.

Madhu Tiwari, Kushal Gupta, and Pratham Singh were the members of the team that emerged victorious in the competition.

Following the conclusion of the program, the students expressed their gratitude to Asian Business school for providing them with the opportunity to not only showcase their creative abilities and talents, but also to reinforce their sense of pride and self-worth.

On February 1, 2024, Asian Business School held a monthly interaction session called “Confluence,” during which the Dean of the school engaged in conversation with students who were enrolled in the PGDM 2022 and 2023 batches. The purpose of Confluence is to provide a forum for the celebration of student accomplishments, the formation of noteworthy relationships, and the enhancement of friendship. During the occasion, awards were presented to all of the winners of the events that took place in January. This was done to recognize the remarkable fervor and excitement that they displayed for participating.

The planned activities for the month of February were publicized, and students were urged to get themselves ready for the impending events. This was done in order to generate excitement and encourage participation. Students were then given the opportunity to voice their issues, offer suggestions, and discuss their experiences on campus through the forum that was established.

Isha Gupta, who was a student in the 2023 batch, and Ritika Singh, who was a student in the 2022 batch, were both awarded the title of Students of the Month for the month of January 2024. This news reinforced the festive atmosphere that had been surrounding the event. Student of the Month is not only a title given to the students, but also the responsibility assigned to them to perform better, give their best and be the motivators for the other students of their batch. These students are the achievers and become the Role Models.

The most exciting announcement of the day was made at the end of the ceremony, and it was the delivery of computers to the new cohort of PGDM 2023 students. As each student was presented with a laptop, the auditorium was filled to the brim with excitement and joy. The students’ faces were adorned with grins, and their eyes could be seen shining with pleasure.

Ms. Shipra Shrivastava – Program Convener & Assistant Professor Asian Business School, have conducted an instructive and practical workshop centered around the Business Model Canvas (BMC) on October 28, 2023. The Business Model Canvas, popularized by Alexander Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur, is a visual framework that allows businesses to comprehensively plan and design their strategies. During the workshop, Ms. Shipra utilized her extensive expertise to guide students through the different stages of creating a robust business model using the Business Model Canvas. This framework typically involves breaking down various components that are crucial for a business’s success. These components include customer segments, value propositions, revenue streams, key resources, channels, customer relationships, key activities, partnerships, and cost structure. By exploring these components, participants have gained insights into the importance of identifying and understanding each element within the Business Model Canvas. Understanding customer segments helps in targeting the right audience, while value propositions outline what the business offers to solve customers’ problems or fulfil their needs. Revenue streams are essential for understanding how the business will generate income. Moreover, the discussion on the format for creating business plans would likely have further enriched the students’ understanding. A well-structured business plan is crucial for guiding the strategic direction and operational aspects of a business. Understanding how to translate the elements identified in the Business Model Canvas into a comprehensive business plan can be pivotal for entrepreneurs and business professionals.

Ms. Shipra Shrivastava’s guidance through these crucial elements of the Business Model Canvas and the subsequent discussion on business plan formats would have provided the students with practical and valuable insights into business strategy and planning. This knowledge is fundamental for aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals aiming to develop successful and compelling business models. Overall, this workshop provided students with practical tools and knowledge to help them develop effective business models and plans for their entrepreneurial and business endeavors.

India is on a mission to bring about a shared global future for all through the Amrit Kaal initiative with a focus on the LiFEmovement which aims to promote environmentally-conscious practices and a sustainable way of living.

To promote environmentally conscious practices and a sustainable way of living, CSR Club of Asian Business School organized a workshop on “SCIENCE OF WASTE MANAGEMENT” on 17th March 2023. Ms. Gurpreet Kaur, Founder and Director of “Action in Community and Training”, an Environment based NGO conducted the workshop on waste management. She explained the process of 3 R’s of waste management and gave importance of segregation at grass root level. It was quite insightful and interactive session. This activity helped to instill amongst the students’ positive attitude and sense of contribution to society, which is required in professional life too. This workshop also enabled them to create interest towards positive impact towards environment through working on science of waste management. Great participation was seen from student’s side during interaction session. The resource person also suggested students about the e-waste collection activity to be carried out in the upcoming week in the college after sharing the importance of e-wastes, composition of electronic gadgets and their hazardous effects on human health which can be prevented if proper disposal of e-waste is done.

Asian Business School in association with Bureau of Indian Standards, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India organized a Seminar on “Needs of Standards in India” on 29^th November 2022. Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the National Standard Body of India. BIS is responsible for the harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Ms. Neha Yadav, Scientist D/ Joint director, Services Sector Department took a session explaining the needs and requirements of the Standards in India. She made the students aware of the standardization and also explained them the benefits of standardization to uplift the society at large. Ms. Neha informed the audience that BIS is the National Standard Body of India established under the BIS Act 2016 for the harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto BIS has been providing traceable and tangible benefits to the national economy in a number of ways – providing safe reliable quality goods; minimizing health hazards to consumers; promoting exports and imports substitute; control over proliferation of varieties etc. through standardization, certification and testing.

Entrepreneurship can be a key to different roadblocks in the course of development to the economy. It acts as the foundation for economic growth and gives millions of people decent jobs. To enlighten and explore the sphere of entrepreneurship, Asian Business School organised its 9th National Seminar on “The Role of Entrepreneurship in Economic Development: The Road Ahead” on Wednesday, 9th November 2022 to celebrate National Entrepreneurship Day.

The seminar was devoted to reflect the ground realities and a collective consensus on addressing how entrepreneurship will prove to be a pivotal point in terms of meeting the country’s inclusive economic development goals while also establishing a robust community. The thrust of seminar was to encourage and enlighten young people to undertake innovation and entrepreneurial activities for the economic development and to understand various action plans for entrepreneurship.

The seminar commenced with the lighting of lamp and welcome introduction of dignitaries present on and off the dais. In Inaugural Ceremony the welcome address was delivered by Dr. Shweta Batra, Dean -Asian Business School and Inaugural address by Mr. Vinod Dhar, Head IC-Asian Business School. This was fostered by the wise words of Ms. Shreedha Singh , Founder & CEO of T.A.C, Mr. Ankit Prasad, Founder Bobble AI. They shared different perspective about entrepreneurship development through Innovations During Uncertainties, Entrepreneurship Discourse & Transformation through marketing activities and Professional Investment.

The Plenary Session was moderated by Ms. Shipra Shrivastava, Convener ABS. The session was fostered by the wise words of Ms. Divya Gandotra Tandon, Director The Scoop Beats, the youngest entrepreneur and an inluential figure and Ms. Gujan Taneja , Co- Founder Head of Marketing & Product U CLEAN.

The seminar reinforced entrepreneurial spirit to foster a start-up ecosystem and encourage local people to engage in AtmaNirbhar Bharat through promoting traditional knowledge. It maximizes the economy’s potential and fosters societal growth and advancement.

The Plenary session enlightened the audience with the insights that entrepreneurs are unique individuals with the fortitude to overcome obstacles and create unique solutions to economic woes. The appeal of entrepreneurship is that it pushes boundaries and employs strategies to develop fresh, contemporary methods to living. This was followed by the felicitation ceremony of the guests. The seminar marked its culmination by Vote of Thanks by Mr. Ravi Sharma, Dean- Corporate Resource Cell (CRC), Asian Business School (ABS). The audience accumulated the wise words and appreciated the constructive platform that the seminar provided them for entrepreneurship.
