He marked the day -11th January, opening of KESSHET2013 for 2 days.

To start with its first annual fest ABS students worked really hard to prepare a proshow- Pagle- e-azam based upon Salim – Anarkali love story with comic essence and modern twist followed by signature tune of Kesshet2013, especially prepared by ABS Rockers to embark the beginning of annual fest.

Day I started with “Graffitti”- paint your imagination which included collage making, face painting and free hand sketching, inter college competition exclusively sponsored by Spykar (Kesshet2013 styling partner) , “Antakshari”- Sound of Music & Laughter Interlude- ABS ka apna comedy circus. All three events experienced tough competition where ABS succeeded in grasping winning trophy for Antakshari, Laughter interlude & Face-painting, Amity thrived in Collage Making and Free hand sketching.

This was followed by ‘Nukkad Natak’ an art that encompasses entertainment with community education. It has always been an effective medium to propagate social messages and influence people. Nukkad Natak competition at ABS gave a new outlook towards the social dilemma prevailing in Indian social and economic scenario i.e. Corruption, Political system, Impact of Inflation, & various other. The team which took a clean sweep through an impactful performance was team from Gargi College (Delhi University) with a theme “Wild Life Preservation”.

An event ‘Brandzard- creating your own brand’ was organized with an intention to give students a scope to convert their classroom learning into practical application by using their marketing skills. This event was a pleasure to see our future marketing managers with great execution of concept, innovative products and creative promotion campaign. Brandzard actually was a tough situation for judges to decide with the winner hence they came up with a tie between ABS team and Vidya International School of Business.

A special act ‘Abla Nari’ was dramatized by ABS students to pay tribute to Brave Heart (victim of 16th December 2012) and contribute toward nations united protest demanding to make changes in Indian legal system to make India safe for Women. The act was followed by a march involving 250 to 300 youth spreading message to make country better place to live for women and seeking justice for the brave heart.

The day I evening picked up with a hilarious performance by Siraj (fame from Comedy Circus, Sony Television) wherein audience laughed their wits out followed by the fashion show “Spectrum” based on theme “Black & White, Indo western, Retro, and Elements of Nature” which crammed the crowd with enthusiasm and zeal accompanied with lots of applause. The steal of the evening happened to be the “Prom night” with exciting games for couple entries and stag entries such as Paper Dance, spot performances, perfect postures and statues concluded by DJ night which further heightened the excitement and added to the fervor of the event. Prom Night gave an opportunity to grab goodies and vouchers from WOW (Worlds of Wonder).

Day 2 of Kesshet2013 once again ushered in with a humble beginning and a warm & heartfelt welcome by Prof Sandeep Marwah to all the guests present. He presented the college report tracing the progress made in the last few years & mentioned that since the first year of its inception the college had taken long strides & has made commendable progress.

It was further followed by highly motivational address to the students by the invited dignitaries and prize distribution for all the club activities. ABS on every Saturday conducts club activities (HR Club, Finance Clubs, Marketing Club, Environment, Sports, CSR, Media Club) these clubs gives platform to students to showcase their learning through corporate exposures on continuous basis. Kesshet2013 Day 2 witnessed facilitation to all the winners and participants of these club activities by our eminent dignitaries. The Day 2 event began with the energizing “Treasure Hunt” which experienced about 34 teams comprising of 3 members in each i.e. almost 120-150 participants altogether running all over ABS campus to search the treasure and win the game that included teams from ABS, Vidya International School of Business, Amity University, many more. After a huge search for treasure based on clues the team to find it first was ABS.

Kesshet2013 on Day 2 proceeded with “Magic Ads” which engaged the students to prepare advertisements of a new product which would widen their horizon in the field of marketing and at the same time help them in understanding the strategy to survive in the competitive world. Best advertisement was created by ABS team, persuading maximum people to go for their product- Bangels through creative and interesting advertisement. “Bhumika” corporate role-play that gave students an opportunity to showcase their talent in analyzing a new situation and preparing budding managers to face real corporate situation. ABS team depicted the situation very well and tackled the problem through inspiring strategies from Indian epic Mahabharata. This unique idea led them to win the contest with no other team in close competition.

12th January 2013 evening encountered the most awaited event Step up- group dance and solo dance inter college competition along with Alap – solo singing competition. Both the events succeeded in filling the ABS environment with dance, music and masti all over the campus with energetic performance by various teams representing their college through rocking performance including different dance forms. Yet another tough time for judges to decide winner out of neck to neck competition but they manage and this time the Step-up- Group Dance winning title went to Sri Aurbindo College from Delhi University. Whereas for Solo Dance and Aalap title was grabbed by ABS again. Late evening witnessed Management Quiz- Sixth Sense with highest scoring by Asian Business School team and Minute to win game show that again created a niche in Kesshet2013.

To conclude nothing could have been better than a special melodious performance by Gypsy Sand Dunes of Rajasthan – Runner up of India’s Got Talent3 that enthralled the audience by their talent, and set the evening rolling. The program rose to a final crescendo with the grand finale and ended in a beautiful resonance lingering in the minds of everyone’, the whole show, was a wonderful fusion of eastern & western cultures by a harmonious blend of music rhythm & dance.
