How can an International Educational Tour benefit students?

July 9, 2015

In an era where all businesses are global, the steady integration of the Indian economy with the global economy has become an irrevocable procedure. The needs of the hour are professionals who are well equipped to handle the new demands of industry in leading their businesses towards this direction successfully.

We at Asian Business School believe that knowledge, coupled with the exposure provided as a part of the curriculum, will inculcate in the students the aptitude to foresee the changing business environment, create innovative plans and implement radical policies.

With the PGDM 2013-15 batch almost set to travel to Oxford Business College, UK for their week long educational tour, below are some of the benefits of an International Educational Tour on students:

  • Participation in an overseas learning experience enables students to build their personal and social competence and intercultural understanding, including language skills.
  • It leads to increased independence, maturity, confidence and self-awareness. Students experience the lifestyle and culture in person and hence have more awareness in terms of behaviour and social norms of the country.
  • It invokes greater interest in global and international issues.
  • It provides a more global outlook on life and a heightened sense of engagement with an increased awareness and appreciation of different cultures
  • It may lead to increased proficiency in the use of another language
  • It leads to a deeper understanding of their own culture and how distinct it is from others

The one week educational tour to Oxford, UK combines learning and exposure and provides the students an opportunity to experience a different culture and gain more knowledge regarding International Business by interacting with the Faculties at Oxford Business College.

The Oxford Study Program includes onsite visits to historical and cultural venues like the Ashmolean Museum, The Boldenian Library, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, London Eye, The British Museum, the National Gallery, the Royal Parks of Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Regent’s Park, London Zoo and Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.

It definitely combines theoretical learning with experiential learning and students look forward to gaining this exposure.
